I wore mouth tape for years before it occurred to me to ask what was actually in the adhesive. When I finally asked, almost nobody would tell me. That's why Somnair Labs exists. If something sits on your skin for eight hours a night, you should be able to read exactly what it's made of before you buy it — not after. Everything we know about our materials is on this page. Everything we learn goes here too.

These are product characteristics taken from our manufacturing specification, not measured laboratory results. Independent testing on Somnair products is in progress; the reports will be published on this page as soon as they are issued in our name.
THE ADHESIVE
Skin-safe by design, not by accident.
An adhesive that has to hold for a full night and still come away in one gentle pull is a narrow brief. We picked ours against three requirements: it stays put while you sleep, it lifts off without taking your skin with it, and it carries nothing along for the ride — no fragrance, no dye, no latex.
That last one matters most. Anything added for scent, colour or shelf life is one more thing sitting on your lips all night for no benefit to you. So we leave it out.

MATERIAL
The adhesive
A single thin layer of medical-grade acrylic adhesive, the same family used on skin-contact dressings. It is chosen for hold and clean removal rather than for strength — a stronger glue would be easier to source and worse to wake up to.
Nothing is added to it. No fragrance, no colourant, no latex, no plasticiser for flexibility. The strip is one adhesive on one backing, and that's the whole list.
MATERIAL
The strip
The backing is a soft, breathable non-woven fabric with a slight stretch, so it follows your face instead of fighting it. It lets moisture through rather than trapping it against the skin, which is what makes eight hours comfortable rather than merely survivable.
Every strip is single-use. Re-wearing one is how adhesives pick up whatever they touched in between.
PRODUCTION
How it's made
Production runs in a controlled environment, in a facility that makes skin-contact products as its main business rather than as a sideline.
- Every run carries a batch number, so any pack can be traced back to the materials it came from.
- Cut, adhesion and edge quality are inspected before a batch is released.
- Sealed pouches, so the strip you open is the strip that left the line.
